My soon-to-be husband proposed March of 2016. Since then, we have been slowly planning all of the pieces of our upcoming nuptials. I’ve been dreaming about designing my own wedding invitations for what feels like forever, and I’m so happy with how these turned out.
To keep things cost effective, I decided to screen print these myself. I hadn’t screen printed in a few years, and it was nice getting back in the saddle. I set up a space to print in my garage and covered all the windows in the bathroom so I could coat screens. It was a ridiculous-looking operation, but for the most part, it ended up running *pretty* smoothly.
These were fairly time/labor intensive, and there was a ton of trial and error that came with the DIY setup. The metallic ink definitely caused a few more problems than I was anticipating, but it ended up being more than worth. It was so satisfying to pull those final prints and realize this was something I was able to have my hands on from start to finish.
If you have any questions about setting up your own screen printing space, feel free to reach out. I’d be happy to pass along the few tips I learned!
